Candy AI puts an entire AI relationship in one browser tab. Build a companion from scratch or pick a ready-made one, then chat, trade voice notes, call, and ask for photos and short videos without leaving the conversation.

That all-in-one approach is the appeal. The character you design is the same one who remembers your last chat, sends a picture when you ask, and picks up the phone. Candy AI has been around since 2023, runs from Malta under EverAI Limited, and keeps adding formats on top of the core chat, from interactive stories to a simulated live cam.

A companion built to your spec

The character builder is where most people start, and it goes deep. You choose a realistic or anime style, a female, male or trans companion, then work through ethnicity, hair, eyes, body type, personality, kinks and voice. Every character in the builder is an adult, with ages starting at 18, and the result is a companion who looks and talks the way you pictured rather than a stock persona with a new name.

If building isn't your thing, the ready-made characters are a quick way in, and Candy Creators adds AI twins of real content creators, which the company says are made with their full consent. Either way, the conversation is the main event. Chat quality and personality are where Candy AI shines, and the memory means a companion can pick up threads from earlier conversations instead of starting cold every time.

Pictures, video and voice

Asking for a photo mid-conversation is the feature that turns chat into something more personal, and Candy AI handles it without a separate tool. Image generation, short videos built from pictures or presets, voice messages and voice calls all live inside the same chat. It's a genuinely complete package, and it's also where the spending happens.

Those extras run on tokens. Every paid plan includes 100 tokens a month, and images, voice and video draw from that balance quickly. Extra token packs are sold separately, and unused monthly tokens don't roll over. Plenty of users find the included allowance fine for occasional pictures; anyone who wants a steady stream of images or video should budget for top-ups.

What it costs

The free tier is a taste, not a plan: five messages in total, one custom character and one image. Premium unlocks unlimited text chat plus the monthly tokens. The headline $3.99 a month is the annual plan, charged as $47.88 upfront. The quarterly plan is $26.97 every three months, and monthly costs $9.99 for the first month and $13.99 after that. Plans renew automatically, and charges appear discreetly as EverAI.

Read the refund terms before you subscribe. Outside the EU and UK, refunds are only available within 24 hours of purchase, if you've used 20 tokens or fewer, and only for card payments. EU and UK customers get a 14-day withdrawal right on their first purchase. Cards, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and some local bank transfers are accepted, depending on where you live.

Rules and privacy

Candy AI publishes detailed content rules: an 18+ requirement for users, a zero-tolerance ban on anything resembling minors, and a ban on deepfakes and images of real people. You can't upload photos, so every character starts from the builder. Flagged content can be reviewed by staff, so treat chats as private but not encrypted.

Playing on phone and desktop

Candy AI runs in any browser and can be added to your phone's home screen like an app. There's no App Store or Google Play download to hunt for, and the experience is the same on desktop and mobile.

Candy AI earns its score with an unusually complete package: a detailed builder, strong conversation quality, memory, and pictures, video and calls inside the same chat. The deductions are about money. The free tier is only five messages, the cheapest price requires a year upfront, tokens run out quickly once you lean on images and video, and the refund window is very short. If you want one polished place for an AI companion and you're comfortable with a subscription plus occasional top-ups, it's an easy recommendation.
